Bodywork is a healing art - A natural path to stress reduction, self-awareness, health and well-being.

The center offers a unique selection of relaxing and therapeutic modalities based on ancient traditions and modern techniques, including:
  • Polarity Therapy
  • Craniosacral Therapy
  • Somatoemotional Release (SER)
  • Swedish Massage
  • Reflexology
All of the bodywork modalities offered at the center are based on a holistic approach to health and well being.

Each modality, though different in its approach, promotes deep relaxation and encourages a connection with a natural and innate healing intelligence moving you in the direction of health and well being. An integral aspect of this work is developing an awareness of how our physical form retains our life history in a unique mind/body relationship.

Polarity Therapy
is based upon the principles of Ayurvedic Medicine and yogic philosophy, which assert that life is an interrelated dynamic whole, dependent upon the free flowing movement of energy. Utilizing a blend of Acupressure, Reflexology and Craniosacral Therapy, Polarity Therapy promotes the body’s natural energy flow, thereby balancing the nervous system, releasing muscular tensions and restoring vitality and inner peace. Polarity Therapy also helps people to become aware of the mind/body connection and how self-knowledge is an integral part of physical well being and health.

Craniosacral Therapy
is a gentle method of detection and correction that encourages your own natural healing mechanisms to dissipate the negative effects of stress on your central nervous system. The craniosacral system consists of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround the brain and spinal cord. It extends from the bones of the skull, face and mouth, down to the sacrum, or tailbone area. Since this vital system influences the development and performance of the brain and spinal cord, an imbalance or restriction in it could potentially cause any number of sensory, motor or neurological imbalances. Craniosacral Therapy restores balance to this vital system, ultimately enhancing all other systems and structures within the body.

Somatoemotional Release (SER)
is a therapeutic process that expands on the principles of Craniosacral Therapy to help rid the mind and body of the residual effects of trauma. Research has led to the discovery that the body often retains physical forces. This can be the result of an accident, injury or emotional trauma. The dysfunctional area is isolated, creating what is called an "energy cyst." Although a reasonably healthy body can adapt to "energy cysts," extra effort is required to perform normal routines. As time passes, the adaptive pattern of the body loses its effectiveness and symptoms begin to appear. SER is a process to restore the body to optimal levels of functioning.

Swedish Massage
is a system using five basic strokes applied to the body as well as active and passive stretching. It offers many benefits, including deep muscular relaxation, release of stress, pain relief and improvement in circulation. It also enhances the repair of injured and damaged tissues.

Reflexology
is an ancient system of bodywork that uses massage and stimulation of the reflex points on the feet. Each organ, gland and body part is reflected in the foot through the reflex points. By stimulating these points, Reflexology enhances self-healing and encourages blood circulation, lymphatic drainage, detoxification and glandular, organ, muscular and nerve function. It is a simple yet extremely powerful therapeutic technique.
